Why I’m Running
I am running for re-election to Cleveland Heights City Council to help create a new path forward to meet our challenges head on (see my goals below). This new path forward will require making some changes. We need to elect a new mayor who will work cooperatively, collaboratively, and professionally with Council members. That does not mean we have to agree on everything. But it does require a close working relationship between elected officials who put the needs of our community ahead of everything else. Currently, there are 6 members on City Council who have such a relationship. So the good news is, we already have something to build on.
MY GOALS
Improve our city services. Full Stop. Council must partner with a new mayor to properly fund our Public Works Dept so we can repave our streets, fill potholes, pick up leaves, bulk items, trash, plow snow, maintain our parks; and do it all in a timely manner. We also need safe, well-maintained neighborhoods and vibrant business districts. In short, your government needs to step up and deliver the services you deserve! And we can do all of this with a new mayor that works collaboratively with city council and our wonderful residents.
MY BACKGROUND
My family moved to Cleveland Heights in 1961. My brother, Chris and I were raised on Greyton Rd, Desota Ave, and later on Woodview Rd, by the only single mom we knew of at that time. We went through the entire CH-UH school system and I am a proud graduate of Cleveland Hts High School. I went on to become the first person in my family to graduate from college (CSU) and get a master’s degree (John Carroll). Cleveland Heights, for me, is a place where dreams come true.
I currently live on Fenley Rd with my wife, Sandy. I am a retired public high school Government, History and Sociology teacher. I was first elected to City Council in 2021.
“I’m proud to support Tony’s run for reelection to city council. Tony communicates with his constituents about what’s happening in city government regularly, responds to our needs and concerns, and has worked to ensure residents get the quality public services they deserve.”
~ Robert Rivera, Teacher and CH resident
““Being a part of Tony’s campaign for City Council in 2025 just reinforces my faith and hope in this community’s ability to maintain great leadership! Thank you, Tony Cuda, for all you do!”
~ Rhonda Davis-Lovejoy, Campaign Treasurer
“As a businessperson I have always felt comfortable approaching Tony. He generously offers his time to listen, and most importantly, Tony follows through with a solution. He regularly attends Coventry Village SID meetings to support our business community. We must re-elect Tony Cuda!”
~ Tommy Fello, Owner, Tommy's Restaurant on Coventry
